Why meditate?
These days, when people ask that question, they're usually asking about mindfulness. And here is what mindfulness actually is:
It is the practice of meeting the present moment — over and over again — with non-judgment and care.
That sounds simple at first. But when we really consider how much of our lives we spend judging and criticising ourselves and others, craving after what we don't have, longing, lusting, numbing out — when we honestly look at how rarely we are able to simply meet the present moment as it is — we begin to understand what a deeply profound invitation this really is.
Mindfulness is an invitation to let all of that go. To reconnect, again and again, to what is actually here. Right in front of us. Right here and now. and this. and this too. With less judgment and more care, we step into a fuller life. We become more available to meet the present moment with honesty and authenticity.
And this includes how we meet ourselves. We are part of the present moment too. It is not that we stand here looking out at a world we will try not to judge. We are in it. We are of it. Which means that mindfulness training is, at its heart, a training in becoming that caring and non-judgmental friend for ourselves.
That is what meditation offers. And it is available to everyone.

A teacher is one who has spent many years treading this path and knows how to help one to assimilate the unfamiliar arisings during meditation, spot and correct any imbalances arising in one’s practice, and at the same time inspire one to practice in a deep and profound way.
Mindfulness, meditation, and trauma healing, are all invitations to cultivate a set of skills so that we can meet the present moment as it's arising and move to engage in the present moment in such a way so as not to cause suffering for ourself and for others. As a result we become more skilled at living.

Structure and fees
I am very flexible with scheduling and each of my students are encouraged to allow their practice of meditation to unfold at a pace that fits into their schedule and in a way that is comfortable. That being said, I generally like to meet with a new student once a week for the first month to make sure the practice is taking hold. After that we meet as you like, but I recommend at least twice a month.
Fee For Services:
1:1 Meditation Sessions: $40-100 Per Hour Session Sliding Scale, Minimum of four sessions.
Group Meditation Sessions: $225 Per Hour.
Consulting: $225 Per Hour.
