A YEAR-LONG ONLINE IMMERSIVE PROGRAM.

Awakened Living

A Year of Practice in the Foundations of Mindfulness

A live, year-long training in Embodied Buddhist Meditation and Psychology for practitioners ready to go beyond an introduction — the four foundations of mindfulness, the four noble truths, the nervous system, and the Brahmavihāras, held for a small cohort across a full year.

Jan 6th, 2027-December 21st, 2027.

Overview

Awakened Living is a year-long container for the study and practice of classical Buddhist psychology, taught live, in real time, with a small cohort of no more than twenty-five people. This isn't an introduction to mindfulness — it's for practitioners who already sit, who want the underlying map rather than another technique, and who are ready to commit to twice-weekly live sessions across a full year of training.

The year moves through four sequential trainings, each building on what came before. The Satipaṭṭhāna itself is the practice running underneath three of the four semesters — the Noble Truths and the Brahmavihāras are both studied through it, not alongside it — with the third semester's nervous-system work deliberately set apart. Together they form a complete psychology: how to know the mind, how to work with what's difficult, how the body itself holds and releases what the mind cannot always reach, and how to end in an open heart rather than a private practice.

How We Train

First Semester: Twelve Weeks. Jan 5th-March 23th.

Satipatthana. The Foundations of Mindfulness.

A Caring and Non-Judgemental Awareness to the Experience of Life.

We come to know the experiences of Body, Feeling-tone, Mind and Heart, and Mental Objects.

Satipaṭṭhāna Meditation will be the foundational practice throughout the course.

Second Semester: Twelve Weeks. April 13th-June 29th

The Practice of Bringing Care and Non-judgement to Life

A Radically Free Engagement With Experience Itself.

The Four Noble Truths.

Embrace Life

Let Go Of Reactivity

Savor The Letting Go Of Reactivity

Cultivate A Path Which Encourages the Letting Go Of Reactivity.

With an emphasis on the

Eightfold Path.

View-Intention-Speech-Action-Work-Effort-Mindfulness-Samadhi.

Engaged through the Satipaṭṭhāna

Third Semester: Eight Weeks. July 20th-September 7th

Moving From Reactivity to Response.

Nourishing the Nervous System In Service of Our Window of Tolerance.

Nervous System Regulation

Drawn from clinical trauma-informed practice — EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Buddhist Psychology.

*This is not “group therapy.”

It is a particular way of working with our nervous system so that we can integrate our stress, so that it can work for us, rather than impact our ability to respond skillfully.

Fourth Semester. 12 Weeks. Oct 5th- December 21st.

The Brahmavihāras

Kindness, Compassion, Joy, Equanimity.

“The Great, The Mighty, The Medium, The Short, and The Small. The Seen and The Unseen. Those Living Near and Far Away. May We All Be At Ease.”

The Metta Sutta. The Buddha

  • 44 weeks of live training, 8 weeks of rest, placed between semesters

The Satipaṭṭhāna is more than Semester One's subject — it's the practice that we will return to as our base across three of the four semesters. The Noble Truths and the Brahmavihāras are both studied through it, not alongside it; Semester Three sets it aside on purpose for the nervous-system work. Semester three is rooted in neuroscience. It is an offering which can help us move from reactivity to response, even in the most challenging situations.

What Weekly Practice Looks Like

Two live sessions each week, two hours each with a ten-minute break — real-time teaching, guided practice, and discussion, not pre-recorded content. This is the actual time for the live sessions. Missing sessions is fine and, to be honest, expected. The sessions are recorded live and made available (only to the participants of this course) roughly 24 hours after each session.

If you would like to register for the course at your own pace, you are welcome. You would still have access to Chris for 1:1 support throughout the year.

We recommend maintaining a daily meditation practice throughout the course. The guided meditation times vary from 15 minutes to 60 minutes.

This is a genuine commitment, named here plainly: this program is built for people ready to dedicate time and energy toward a consistent mindfulness practice, meditation and in our daily activities, for a full year.

Investment

Every participant receives the same full program. What differs is simply what you're able to pay, on the honor system:

Scholarship $520

Basic Fee $780

Sustainer $1,600

Benefactor $3,100

Choose whichever reflects your circumstances. Sustainer and Benefactor enrollment help make the Scholarship and Basic Fee rates possible for others. Total enrollment across all price points is capped at twenty-five.

Who This Is For

Awakened Living is built for people who already have a meditation practice and who want to deepen in community with others, and also study the classical psychology behind the practices— not an introduction, but a year to truly plumb the depths of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. That includes long-time practitioners hungry to go further; therapists, somatic practitioners, and other teachers who want to bring this profound psychological map into their own work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior meditation experience?

Yes — it helps to already have a regular daily meditation or mindfulness practice. This program builds on that foundation rather than starting from the beginning.

What happens if I miss a live session?

Every session is recorded and shared with you within 24 hours, so nothing is lost if your schedule doesn't allow you to join live every time. Attend as many or as few of the live sessions as feels right for you.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes, payment plans are available — reach out by email and we'll find an arrangement that works for you.

What if I need to withdraw partway through the year?

This is a year-long commitment, and we ask that participants plan to see it through — that's part of what makes the container work for everyone in it. That said, life happens, and any true emergency will be met with care, on a case-by-case basis.

Twenty-five seats. One year. Beginning January 6, 2027.
