Everybody comes to meditation for different reasons - be it stress, anxiety or some sort of struggle in one’s life; to perform better or for a spiritual longing, the quest for enlightenment, a deeper sense of rest perhaps. All of these are great reasons to begin or deepen a meditation practice

Student-Teacher Meditation Program

With all of the guided meditation recordings on YouTube, podcasts, apps, and books, it seems like there are plenty of resources to build a healthy meditation practice. These resources are a great way to get started and indeed can be useful in supporting one’s meditation practice in an ongoing way. However, the contemplative path is not a simple one and often people experience unforeseen obstacles.

A teacher is one who has spent many years treading this path and knows how to help one to assimilate the unfamiliar arisings during meditation, spot and correct any imbalances arising in one’s practice, and at the same time inspire one to practice in a deep and profound way.

Supporting your skill development

As living beings we inevitably encounter some form of struggle in our life, some form of suffering, and the desire to be free from that suffering.

Mindfulness and meditation is an invitation to cultivate a set of skills so that we can meet the present moment as it's arising and move to engage in the present moment in such a way so as not to cause suffering for ourself and for others. As a result we become more skilled at living.

Working it out together : a curriculum designed around your needs

We get to work together to create a curriculum that meets your needs.

Some people I work with are looking for therapeutic support: stress relief, challenging sleep patterns, depression, anxiety, or trauma relief, among others. Many other students have a deep curiosity for contemplative practices and want to strengthen their understanding and practice.

While meditation can indeed be a part of one’s spiritual practice, it is not inherently spiritual. Rather, meditation and contemplative studies can be seen as tools which can help us meet and experience the whole of our life, skillfully and with heart.

I have trained and taught for over 38 years in both traditional and contemporary fields and am able to offer the wisdom from these teachings within a secular voice and a trauma sensitive frame.

This includes deep training from the lineages of Zen and Tibetan Meditation, Mahayana Buddhism, Theravada Buddhism (including Vipassana) and Insight Meditation.

I’m also certified in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness From David Treleaven, and Positive Neuroplasticity from Rick Hansen.

Practices I specialize in:

Mindfulness, Insight Meditation, Lovingkindness, Compassion, Boundless Joy, Equanimity. These teachings are very dear to my heart.
Also Embracing Change, Deep Rest Meditation and Practices which are designed to help us release our emotional reactivity.

Structure and fees

I am very flexible with scheduling and each of my students are encouraged to allow their practice of meditation to unfold at a pace that fits into their schedule and in a way that is comfortable. That being said, I generally like to meet with a new student once a week for the first month to make sure the practice is taking hold. After that we meet as you like, but I recommend at least twice a month.

Fee For Services:

1:1 Meditation Sessions: $125 Per Hour Session. Minimum of four sessions.

Group Meditation Sessions: $225 Per Hour.

Consulting: $225 Per Hour.

Everyone is different, yet all may benefit from strengthening their attention and intention.
